Getcontact

An app on Mom's phone that allows her to see if her children have humorously labeled her contact as "Motherfucker." Since Mom doesn't enjoy playing video games like Fortnite, Free Fire, or Mobile Legends as much as her sons do, Getcontact is one of the few apps she keeps, alongside online shopping apps like Shopee.
Mom opened Getcontact to check if any of us had pulled a prank by naming her "Motherfucker," proving that even if she doesn’t game, she’s still in on the family jokes.

sax and violins

That one musical instrument combination with a minimum age requirement to play, often implying a level of maturity needed to handle the complexities and nuances of the music. This phrase humorously highlights how certain instruments, like the saxophone and violin, are often associated with more advanced skill levels and the expectation of a certain age or experience.
When I tried to sign up for band class, they told me I had to be at least 18 years old to play the sax and violins—guess my dreams of being a child prodigy are on hold
Also known as "baggage" or "cargo", this term refers to something heavy that you carry around wherever you go, often used to describe physical items but can also refer to emotional or psychological burdens.
After a long trip, I felt like I was dragging around not just my luggage, but all the emotional baggage from the past few months.

emotional baggage

Named after "something heavy that you carry around wherever you go," this term refers to unresolved negative emotions and past experiences that continue to affect a person's present life and relationships.
She realized that her emotional baggage from previous relationships was holding her back from truly connecting with someone new.

integral

The two holes on the top of a violin are the "integral" parts of the instrument, hence the math symbol resembling these two holes is known as the "integral" symbol.
In calculus class, I learned that the integral symbol is inspired by the integral parts of a violin, which makes it a fitting representation of wholeness.

A controversial full-service restaurant where tipping more money to the waiter means that your stomach can hold more food—even when it actually only means that you know/suspect/are aware that the waiter ought to have higher wages and nothing else. This is similar to how the YouTube algorithm interprets subscribing to more channels as having more time to watch videos.
Navigating YouTube is like dining at a full-service restaurant where every tip just makes the waiter richer, but somehow I end up feeling like I’ve ordered a buffet I can’t finish.

high school girl

A college girl majoring in subjects similar to K-12 curricula (like Math, Physics, and Chemistry), often seen in attire resembling a school uniform (think white collared shirt and pleated skirt). This college girl still lives with her parents, and her favorite movie is ironically the most inappropriate flick they allow her to watch—typically an Indonesian film rated 13+, which is "only" slightly more inappropriate than Ant-Man: Quantumania.
She might be in college, but with her high school girl vibe and love for that Indonesian movie, it feels like she's still living in her teenage years!
