chowder effect

(often called "unmoving plaid") An animation technique popularized by the cartoon Chowder where a character’s clothing texture stays completely still while the character moves underneath it. Instead of the fabric moving with the body, the character appears to “slide” through a fixed pattern—like plaid or stripes—creating a surreal, window-like or wormhole effect.

Drone-shot

A photograph or video clip captured using a camera mounted on a drone, typically taken from elevated or dynamic angles that would be impossible or extremely expensiveto achieve with handheld cameras, cranes, or helicopters.

Originally popularized in the early 2010s when consumer drones like the DJI Phantom became widely available, the drone-shot quickly transformed filmmaking, travel vlogging, real estate marketing, and even school projects. What used to require a full production crew and a helicopter can now be done by one person with a backpack and a controller. This is associated with epic vacation videos, YouTube intros, and that one friend who insists on filming every hangout from 50 feet in the air.
Whoa bro, that wasn’t just a selfie — that was a full-on drone-shot. Why does our basketball game look like a Netflix documentary?
