Alexander Ashford created a female and a male out of DNA. They were twins, both meant to be blessed with supreme knowledge. Alexia and Alfred Ashford, they were called. Only Alexia got the supreme knowledge, though, Alfred found out they were created and had Alexander experimented on and injected with viruses. He became horribly disfigured. He was blinded and put in a pit. Later Clair Redfield battled Alexander (later called "Nosferatu") in the pit.
