kinga-rusing (or name-dropping, name-checking) is the practice of naming or alluding to important people within a conversation, story, song, online identity, or other communication in order to let the other person know that you yourself are popular and actually have friends.

Julio: "I was just chilling with my boy Will Smith, and we hella partied and shit."
Matt: "Did you really dude? That makes you hella cool."
Louis: "Shaaam, i think you're just kinga-rusing."
