Making a big deal out of something so meaningless. Usually done in order to save a few dollars and/or headaches, but disregarding the big picture.
Jon: "My customer wants this specific package installed on the vehicle he's buying."
Larry(company owner): Well we can just put on the aftermarket package instead. It's basically the same and it will cost us less."
Jon: "But I already told him we'd get the original factory parts installed. Those are what he looked at, and what we already quoted."
Larry: "I don't care, business is slow and this is what we'll do for your customer!"

Menards
1. A midwestern hardware giant that subjects it's female employees to sexual harassment by perverted old men that must be referred to a "guests" rather than "customers".
2. A place where employees must shamelessly beg people to sign up for their "Big Card" that ends up causing it's users "BIG" headaches because HSBC sucks.

Snuffies
In the Marine Corps, especially during Vietnam…
Privates through Lance Corporals were usually referred to as “Snuffies,” because these FNGs (Fuckin’ New Guys) would usually find themselves on “Point” positions of patrols, and usually the first ones to get “snuffed-out” (shot or killed) during any ambush and/or encounter with the enemy.
