yallinaband

Verb. When someone asks if you and your friends are in a band, usually at a gas station or convenience store. Commonly heard in the southern United States outside of major cities and in rural areas. The question always starts with "Y'all in a band or something?". If the person being asked is in a band, they might begrudgingly admit it, only to be answered with "I could tell from your long hair" or "You look like rock stars". The person asking will almost always then ask what the band name is, and then look confused when you tell them a name they've obviously never heard of. They might ask what kind of music, and when the band members say something like "avant-garde blackened doom" or "ambient drone power electronics", they will get even more confused.
Wow, that's a new record. It's 3 AM at a gas station in Ogallala, Nebraska and I just got yallinabanded three times between the van and getting an energy drink.
