Ya’at’eeh is how the Navajo greet each other. It is always accompanied with a hand shake, and, if the people
don't know each other, it is usually followed with a real introduction.
Literally means: It is good or it is well.
Additionally, “Yá’át’ééh abiní” is the way to say good
morning in Navajo.
It can also be used with ‘shił’ as in ‘shił yá’át’ééh’ to mean ‘I like it.’
Two
bros meet at a party and grab hands to shake, one of them saying ya' at' eeh in greeting. When everyone else is like Da Fuq they just grin and
flash their tribal tats. They know what's up.
