vanishing point

A road film, starring Barry Newman and directed by Richard Sarafian, and released by 20th Century Fox in 1971. Basically, a former solider/cop/racecar driver bets his drug dealer he can get a white Dodge Challenger to San Francisco, CA (from Denver, CO)in 15 hours or less... of course, the Highway Patrol gets pissed and chases him from Rifle, CO all the way to the border of California... along the way, he meets hippies, snake-cultists turned Christian musiccians, nudists, and homosexual robbers, until the end. The story is mostly told through a series of flashbacks, showing Kowalski's (Newman)life, up until the present.

Vanishing point

In conversational perspective - the mortifying moment when, having begun to speak, you cannot remember what you wanted so desperately to convey.
He pounded the conference table for emphasis, and stopped... suddenly realizing he was lost, searching wildly but unable to come up with what, an instant ago, seemed so clear... but, uh... was now his vanishing point.

church hurt

church hurt is where you experience a degree of distance, pain, or judgement from your church community. Essentially, you are just unable to “find your place”. This is prevalent in the Christian community, but can be extended to other religions.
Now that I am an adult I am beginning to heal from the church hurt that was inflicted on me as a child.
