Slag Monkey

1) A person obsessed with metal work involving welding and torch cutting.

2) A person who likes to chip hot slag off fresh welds with no face shield.
Did you see that amorphous, strange, bat sculpture Ted was welding? That slag monkey wasn't even waiting for his welds to cool before chipping off the slag, I think he has second degree burns on his face and I swear a piece of slag flew up his nose.

You think me an old fogeyand an old tory, his thoughtful voice said. I saw three generations since O’Connel’s time. I remember the famine. Do you know that the orange lodges agitated for repeal of the union twenty years before O’Connel did or before the prelates of your communion denounced him as a demagogue?
