similar to "evasiveness." the quality of a person tending or seeking to evade by telling half-truths; characterized by borderline-lying so that one cannot be accused of actually lying: an evasive answer.

After I discovered that what he said was "just dinner" was actually a gala event, his liarishness became clear to me.
