kaipability

Kaipability is the ability of an organisation to change what it can make or do, repeatedly, without losing the capabilities it already relies on.

In short: the capability to change capability. Verb.
Half the factories on our estate are zombie organisations. Same machines, same products, same thinking since 2005.

The start-up next door trebles output in two years: drones, then medical devices, now battery housings. Same core team, never missed a delivery.

That's kaipability.

The zombies have technology, but not the capability to build new capabilities. Small start-ups can have the opposite problem: brilliant at inventing things, hopeless at making them reliably at scale.

Different problems. Same missing kaipability.

The first product flopped, so they retooled the same team and tech into a logistics platform in six weeks — pure kaipability. My mate’s kid is the same — went from Scratch to Python to building her own weather station in a year. That’s not being gifted, that’s kaipability.

Texas is categorized as a swing state in presidential elections, but has voted for Republicans more times than for Democrats in recent history. As such, as demographics change political alignments, some Democrats believe that Texas will vote blue, or Democratic, due to their Hispanic and African American voters, who often align themselves with the Democratic Party's liberal wing.

Blexas has been cited as possible in the upcoming decades, but only if Democrats continue to win the Hispanic vote in bigger margins.
Democrat 1: What is your prediction for the 2024 presidential election?
Democrat 2: Well uh, Blexas!
Democrat 1: You've been saying that since 2008 though.
