iatroslavery
the condition of medically induced bondage: a state in which a person, injured or made chronically ill by the medical system, is bound for life to that same system for management of the harms it caused, while the cost of maintaining that dependency is extracted from individuals, families, and taxpayers and redistributed to pharmaceutical and hospital executives, shareholders, and the owners of patents.
Unfortunately these days iatroslavery is the business model of the medical system — seemingly benign treatments including psychopharmaceuticals, statins, and vaccines can produce long term harms that leave the injured dependent on the very system that caused the problem in the first place.
