The word boys give to girls when they go through hormonal changes. The girl starts to like boys and the boys don't like it because they haven't gotten their testosterone boost. Cooties is another word for high estrogen levels.

Cooties are negatively charged particles. They are not the same as germs, or else they would not have different names. If you get too close to a cootie source you may be sucked into a cootie force field. Therefore stay away from all cootie sources i.e. boys.
I cannot come in contact with George because I do not want to be trapped in a forcefield of cooties.

Cooties is a highly infectious disease, common between the ages of 5 and 12, which happens through the contact of saliva, generally by the mouth. Symptoms include a rash near or on the face, and sometimes even severe cases of toes dropping off.
