Visitor's effect

Visitor's effect is the psychological phenomenon where the initial period of visiting someone is marked by high energy, hospitality, and an idealized sense of perfect living, only for this illusion to fade as the guest transitions into a regular cohabitant. The shift from "celebrated guest" to "ordinary roommate" either happens as a slow fade (the gradual erosion of politeness into daily chores) or a sudden hit (a single, jarring reality check).
