The Vertical Slab Fallacy refers to a lack action taken by a person / persons / company due to a sort of "nostalgia" or public image, even if said action would benefit everyone involved and has no negative side effects.
It's important to note that the Vertical Slab Fallacy can only apply when the one refusing to act / do something has nothing stopping them from doing that thing, and they themselves are the only ones keeping the thing from happening.
Usually, the Vertical Slab Fallacy only applies when a large group of people publicly and unanimously agree that a specific thing happening would be good or beneficial for everyone involved. This most likely becomes a running joke among said group of people.
