Valve

The video game developer behind the following IPs: Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Portal, Team Fortress, Left 4 Dead, in addition to several entertaining Source games. One of the few companies that hasn't lost its soul over the years and hasn't (significantly) declined in quality. That isn't to say they haven't done a few rather unpopular things, but at the same time we can't help but love them.

So earlier today; a friend of mine was bitching about Steam being required for this game he bought, how TF2 has been a failure since it went F2P, and how frustrated he was that CS:GO and DOTA 2 were being developed while there was still no word on Episode 3/Half-Life 3. Then he started playing his new copy of Portal 2, and said "I love you Valve. Will you marry me, Gabe Newell?"

Creators of the hit PC title Half-Life, and its subsequent expansion-packs. Also recently implemented the Steam network, a method of software delivery intended to eliminate the middle-man ie. chains like Electronic Boutique and GameStop. Also currently working on Half-Life 2.

1. A device or structure purposed to control the flow or passage of any of the three states of matter: solid, liquid or gas. Such structures may be found in plumbing, as well as in the human body (specifically, the heart).

2. A company in the game development industry that designed and continues to build upon the Half-Life series. Also, the brains (or lack thereof) behind the infamous "Steam" client, content-delivery platform.

1. Some geniuses find it fun to open the valve on a helium tank, place their mouths over it, and begin hyperventilating.

2. There comes a point in one's life where one must ask life's greatest question: Does Valve's magnificent work with Half-Life outweigh the frustration and uselessness that Steam's impropriety brings? The world may never know.

Valve is a gaming company that, while one of the slower companys when it comes to making games, have amazing games. While Valve made Portal, Half-Life, Team Fortress 2, and many more, they also made Steam which is the most used content for buying games online.

Valve makes great games that I would play over and over!
