He got the name when a sportswriter overheard a Brooklyn Dodger fan say 'uh-oh, here comes that man again' as Musial was walking to the plate at a game at Ebbetts Field, sometime in the 40s. In 1946 Musial led the National League in games played, at-bats, runs scored, hits, singles, doubles, triples, RBIs, total bases, slugging percentage, and batting average.

Stan the Man went into the Hall of Fame in 1968.

Texas is categorized as a swing state in presidential elections, but has voted for Republicans more times than for Democrats in recent history. As such, as demographics change political alignments, some Democrats believe that Texas will vote blue, or Democratic, due to their Hispanic and African American voters, who often align themselves with the Democratic Party's liberal wing.
