Sex based rights
A term used by gender critical activists referring to rights that don't actually exist in UK law. All existing protections are granted on the basis of protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010, which includes gender reassignment as a separate protected characteristic. The phrase is therefore legally meaningless, used primarily as rhetorical framing to oppose trans inclusion
"She kept going on about sex based rights until someone asked her to cite the specific legislation and she went very quiet."
