a common phrase used to mean "remember this" or "take note of what i'm about to say"

possibly used when predicting future events, thus putting across the opinion that you said it first, and therefore are an uber cool and respected person.

alternatively just used as a means of emphasising a point.

philip oddie will one day end world poverty once and for all. quote me.

i love philip oddie and his cool cats. quote me.

After trying to remember facts to relay to someone else, if one is unsure of the accuracy of the memorised facts, it is wse to add after saying them the above phrase.

I think the soviet army lost 7 million people in WWII, but don't qoute me on that. I may be getting it confused with total losses.

This term, "Hello, you're quite good at turning me on" originated back 200 years ago in the time of the olympians. This term can be used as a 'pickup- line' attempt, and usually results with a slap in the face. On rare occasions it may be worse, for example: you may be kicked in the genitals, but do not fear, the pain will go away quickly, due to the fact that you will be unconscious.
