1)To ready oneself for drastic and decisive action including, but no limited to violent enforcement or retribution.

2)To decide to take a situation seriously and finally engage in conflict or competition. Characterized by a shift in priorities from general agree-ability, care and nurturing to force of will and fighting. i.e., A move from "lover" to "fighter".
If they think they can get away with slandering our name like that they are mistaken. It's time to put the baby down!
