pushing buttons

Pushing the emotion "buttons" on someone, most commonly anger/grief.

It implies that the pusher knows where the other person's buttons are, meaning, how to get at him. So button pushing is usually done after someone exposed himself as being passionate or angry about something in a situation, or the person is known well by the pusher.

pushing buttons and pulling levers

A way of describing a job that is mechanical literally like a factory worker or figuratively but still much like a flow chart. The antithesis of this is anything that requires highly specialized skill and intuition.
After pushing buttons and pulling levers for 40 years at the wooden toy factory, Leroy had a knack for fitting square pegs in round holes as evidence by the collections of rasps and files he had in his pocket.

pushing the ejector button

That fantasy of relief that everyone has had when trapped listening to someone who drones on and on about something they do not want to hear.
So we’re driving along on Highway 1, headed northward on a most beautiful stretch of the California coastline, and the next thing I know, I’m pushing the ejector button!

pushing the dutch button

1. Me and Anthony are gunna take turns pushing the dutch button, Dad.

2. Hey man, Push the Dutch Button.

Why don't you push the dutch button, jackass.
The grindset is a contemporary ideology of self-exploitation disguised as strength, deeply tied to the aesthetics of the “sigma male” and to new digital forms of patriarchy. It promotes the idea that human worth depends on productivity, economic success, absolute emotional control, and the ability to work endlessly, turning vulnerability, rest, community, and tenderness into signs of weakness. Beneath its rhetoric of discipline and power often lies a profound inability to relate healthily to pain, fragility, and human interdependence.
“That’s the grindset, brother. While weak men sleep and complain, sigma males stay disciplined, work in silence, suppress emotions, and build power while everyone else wastes time chasing comfort.”
