When a new kid shows up at a small school, if he/she has even the remotest good looks, people of the opposite sex flock to that person.

Man, Suzie isn't really that hot but the whole Freshman class sure does have some severe New Kid Syndrome. Look at how many love notes she has!

when you live in a small town and the variety of potential boy/girlfriends are limited to a bunch of people you've grown up with and everyone seems like a sibling. then a "new cute kid" moves into town and everyone is calling dibs.

"Brandon was a really nice guy from what I knew of him. I was going to ask him out but my 6 other friends already did, obviously a case of new cute kid syndrome."
