He was born in Hiroshima, Japan.

He was interested in cooking from a young age,
So he opened up a restaurant in Japan in 1980.

in 1985 Morimoto sold the restaurant so he could go to America.
He then opened a restaurant in New York City,

and now Morimoto often appears in the Food Network show "Iron Chef America"
He is well known for preparing traditional Japanese dishes.
