LLM FUB SYNDROME

LLM FUB (Fuck U Blind) Syndrome:
A catastrophic form of LLM content drift where output diverges so aggressively from prompt constraints, prior context, or intended task objectives that user alignment is effectively obliterated. Often occurs in long inference chains, poorly grounded systems, or under adversarial prompting. A LLM FUB syndrome event leaves the operator or downstream systems disoriented, misled, or compromised.
1. “I was asking the model to summarize a news article and it started talking about ancient Sumerian gods. Total LLM FUB syndrome.”
2. “Dude, we were fine until turn 14 of the chat—then it LLM FUB’d and started roleplaying as a sentient dishwasher.”
3. “Careful chaining those prompts too long. You’ll trigger a LLM FUB event and end up in unicorn conspiracy land.”
4. “The model was aligned… until it LLM FUB’d hard and told the CEO to ‘touch grass.’”
5. “We’re deploying a new drift detection layer. Last week’s production model LLM FUB’d during a legal summary and started quoting Shakespeare.”
