Hougoumont
A historical, walled farmhouse that is famous for being in the Battle of Waterloo along with La Haye Sainte.
On June 18, 1815, It was the key defensive position for the Anglo-Allied forces against Napoleon's French army. The French are the first to launch a large attack on the farm, but they were met with fierce resistance and ultimately failed to capture it. The British Regiment of Foot Guards held the farm, and the battle for Hougoumont was a major scene of the battle. After the war, some buildings in Hougoumont were destroyed due to the howitzers. Most were fine and intact.
