Hebereke

A short-lived series of games in the 90s created by Sunsoft. Hebe, the main character, serves as Sunsoft's mascot. The first game, known as "Ufouria: The Saga" outside of Japan, was Sunsoft's attempt at a Metroidvania-game, in which you find 3 of your friends, and together, you try finding your way out of the mysterious world you've awoken to. One of Hebe's companions, O-chan, is a girl in a cat-suit with horrible singing-skills. She was changed to a knock-off Charmander-looking thing when she was regionized elsewhere.

The series spun off into a few puzzle-oriented games, and is largely forgotten now.
I've been a Sunsoft fan for many years, and I've heard that their take on a Metroidvania-game goes by Hebereke, which apparently means "drunk" in Japanese.
