Get the Hank Greenmug. Hank Green is probably best known for being one half of the Vlogbrothers on Youtube with his brother John Green. On said channel, Hank often writes and performs songs - usually of a comedic nature - talks about Harry Potter and other nerdy subjects, and does challenges/punishments that the Nerfighters give him (such as humping many of the landmarks in his town of Missoula Montana). A common joke for the Vlogbrothers is that when John does a Question Tuesday (rarely on a Tuesday), he answers the question, "Who the eff is Hank?" by reading the definition for another person, place, or thing, such as the sun or the breed of John's dog.
He is also known for being the creator of DFTBA records (a production company that signs YouTube artists such as Charlieissocoollike and DaveDays), the founder of EcoGeek (a very well-known and respected environmental website), and one of the founders of the Mars Society.
Hank lives in Missoula Montana with his wife - The Katherine - and their cat Cameo. He has Ulcerative Colitis, a problem which frequently plagues him, and has a habit of flipping off Hummers.

Get the Hank Greenmug. For knitting (or other crafting/making/doing): a boneheaded, obvious mistake, that someone of your expertise or experience shouldn't have made.
Context: Hank Green is an internet personality and creator of VidCon. He has positioned himself as an authority on a wide variety of topics on his YouTube channel SciShow and as producer & cohost of the channel Mental Floss. In September 2025 he posted a video to SciShow titled "Physicists Don’t Understand Why Knitting Works,” which contained obvious factual errors and many found to be dismissive and misogynistic against knitting as a skill and people who knit. Because of this, it was assumed no one with experience knitting was involved during the production process or final review before the video was posted. Due to the overwhelming backlash he received the video was taken down within three weeks and Green issued a formal apology.
