1.a person who could very possibly be well-meaning, but is incredibly awkward to the point of making those around him or her feel uncomfortable and twitchy.
2. a person who, again, may be well-meaning, but has extremely annoying personal habits that annoy the hell out of everyone.
examples of signs of gooberosity:
chews gum extremely loud with mouth open (not obnoxious-on-purpose, but more obnoxious-without-realizing-it); always wears pants that are slightly too short or sleeves slightly too small; often uses a rolling backpack; squints a lot; has trouble controlling the volume of his or her voice; interrupts others to tell uninteresting stories but doesn't realize it; often enthuastic about everything; and, the most significant goober sign: Heavy Mouth Breather.
These signs of goobdom are not condemning a person, because goobs can very often be quite entertaining and cool, but have gooby qualities about them.

Every time I see Patty in the hall, she breathes all over me and practically shouts, "HEY! WHAT'S UP?!" She's such a goober.

A term of endearment used in place of a person's real name. It is a nickname. A goober is a loveable goofball who is incredibly well meaning and extremely attractive. Goobers are often the source of unexpected and inappropriate comments or outbursts. Their good natures make them totally fun and irresistibly sexy. Anyone lucky enough to love a goober will never be bored.

A complete idiot who gets no poon and is basically the least likely to get any girls in the friend group. A group of goobers is called goobs. Common characteristics of a goober include: funny looking, clumsy, obese, low iq. This term was originated in Cranford New Jersey, by a red headed man.

An oafish dimwitted goofball from a small town, usually from the Southern or Midwestern states, but can also be found in the American Southwest , Pacific Northwest and occasionally the more rural areas of New England. Similar to a hick but with more limited cognitive abilities (as hard to swallow as that might be). Goobers can have lovable characteristics, but that’s not always set in stone.
On the movie Deliverance the guys who sodomized Ned Beatty were hillbillies, while the retard with the banjo was simply a harmless goober.
