A behavioral pattern characterized by the projection of openness, inclusivity, and unity for the purpose of acquiring or preserving influence within a group. The individual who displays it seeks to be perceived as a central, indispensable, or unifying figure, not out of genuine concern for the collective good, but to reinforce their own importance and status.

This posture relies on the deliberate construction of a favorable reputation, maintained through gestures of accessibility, conciliatory rhetoric, and a carefully cultivated presence. Beneath the facade, relationships serve less as bonds of mutual respect than as tools for personal validation and influence.

Dismissive, contemptuous, or insulting remarks are often disguised as humor, allowing their author to deny responsibility while portraying any negative reaction as oversensitivity or a failure to understand the joke.

When facts begin to undermine the image they have built, the individual typically refuses to acknowledge fault. The very flaws they exhibit are projected onto others, while accountability is minimized, deflected, or rejected altogether.

When diversion and justification no longer suffice, they may react with the impulsiveness of a cornered animal, launching accusations and attacks in an effort to create confusion. At that stage, the objective is no longer the pursuit of truth, but the preservation of image and the avoidance of responsibility.
