Fake geeks pretend to be huge fans of Doctor Who, Supernatural, Sherlock, Homestuck, Merlin, and lots of other fandoms. They also pretend to have a lot of ships, and an unrealistically popular tumblr blog. They can be seen wearing fake glasses and wearing merchandise for shows they don't watch.

Jack: I watch BBC Sherlock and Doctor Who all the time!
Alice: Really?! Didn't you like that new Doctor Who episode that played last night?! My OTP Destiel became canon!!!
Jack: I know! I was so happy!

when you're holding up your phone and making faces at it, as though you are taking a selfie, but you're really taking a picture of the person across from you or the wall or anything else that seems interesting but you don't want to be caught dead taking a picture of.

This action is often made more convincing by wiggling the eyebrows or opening the mouth, to pretend you're trying to get a Snapchat filter to work.
