Failed normie

(Noun) A person who aspires to climb the established social ladder, achieve conventional life goals and milestones, and receive belonging or popularity from mainstream society("normies"), ultimately to be excluded without acceptance.

The rejection from society failed normies face are a spectrum, with examples including not being invited to participate in their activities and establishments, being treated as if they are uninvited, becoming the butt of the joke, or being outright bullied and actively harassed.

Many reasons exist for one to be a failed normie, nonexhaustively including poor physical appearance, a lack of common life experiences, missing social cues, unconventional interests and demeanor, or a lack of subjectively defined charisma.

Whether or not a failed normie is still a believer in mainstream society is varied across individuals, with sentiment ranging from permanent rejection of their "normie" past to continued claims to be part of the mainstream. Likewise, it is also varied across individuals whether or not a failed normie is self-aware of their true social status, relative to their prior desired goals.

The relationship that failed normies have with both mainstream society and its outcasts also vary, coupled to their faith in the establishment system. Some may fully exit mainstream society, while others may themselves become the bullies against outcasts, harassing those who deviate from the norms of mainstream society. Many also live between both worlds.
