Distortive

"Distortive" means tending to twist, alter, or misrepresent something from its true, natural, or original state, often in a misleading way, affecting reality, facts, or sound. It describes something that causes distortion, like a "distortive interpretation" that changes facts or sound with "distortion".
"A distortive view of history" means a view that misrepresents the past.
