Dansvakantie

A short season of dance family hibernation between Nutcracker season and the resumption of dance classes after New Year’s Day. Typically lasting two to three weeks, dance families enjoy Dansvakantie as a season of self-care, rejuvenation, contemplation and creative engagement.

Dansvakantie involves several days of sleeping in, wearing PJs all day, binge watching movies, cozy evenings reading a book, and disengaging from the chaos of the regular dance season. Starting projects that have no hope of being finished is a favorite tradition.

Dansvakantie necessities include: warm footwear, cozy blankets, comfortable clothing that layers nicely with pajamas or leggings, warm beverages, books, and self-care products.

The last evening of Dansvakantie ends with the ceremonial, Opening of the Dance Bag. Legend claims that the success of the new dance year is directly correlated to the smell and chaos of a dancer’s bag at the end of Dansvakantie, Dancers share the joy of finding lost necessities and new mysterious objects as they are pulled from deep inside the dance bag. So fun!
Sorry, we won’t be able to join you. Our family is celebrating Dansvakantie this week.

schmegegge

Yiddish slang word meaning bullshit, baloney, hogwash, nonsense, crock of shit or hot air.
I don't buy the schmegegge about Morty sleeping with Moira.
His version of the story was pure schmegegge.
The whole schmegegge was made up to get Liz a little bit of attention.
