A connection between two people (usually ex-partners) where romantic feelings and traditional friendship obligations are completely gone, but a deep sense of comfort, familiarity, and zero-pressure understanding remains. It is a compartmentalized bond based on shared history, with absolutely no expectations for the future.

Person A: "Are you and your ex getting back together? You guys still talk."
Person B: "No, definitely not. There's no romance and we aren't exactly 'friends' either. We just know each other too well to be strangers. It's a comfriendship."

abandonware

n. software that is no longer sold or supported by the original publisher / developer, often found as free downloads on the internet because it cannot be obtained elsewhere. Not legal, but often seen as morally acceptable because the company that made it is no longer selling the title, nor releasing it as freeware, therefore abandonware is "keeping the game alive", so to speak.

Doom II is not abandonware because id still sells it, while The Incredible Machine is not sold, therefore is abandonware.
