Cadmium

1. The element Cd on the Periodic Table.
2. (Archaic/Old, Slightly Offensive) "Cadmium" used to be used as a slur by white people to refer to a coon daddy when one was close-by, so as not to get into a fight, usually used of Black men.
3. (Phrase, "A heart of Cadmium") Used to describe someone who is generally friendly and outgoing, and also very brave and just; someone who will always do whatever's right, even if it's at their own expense.
4. (Archaic/Old): Slang for someone who is overly flashy with their gestures or actions, especially when unnecessary, used around the mid 1900s in rural parts of Southern America.
