The sword was chosen from the name Abergele which translates as ‘mouth of the river shaped like a sword’ This is believed to be the name given by the first settlers who thought that the river looked like the blade of a sword from the hills above the town.
They are famous for playing chapagne rugby and are both feared and respected across the land!
