A bibleist is what most "
Christian fundamentalists" actually are. Instead of following Christ'
s teachings of
peace and love, they instead subscribe themselves to a literal interpretation of the human-written Bible,
Old Testament and all. These are the people who say to persecute gays and repress women because "the Bible
said so", and those that spit on
[science] because it is "against God".
Unfortunately, many otherwise-rational people make the
mistake of lumping Christians in with these assholes, conflating worship of Jesus with the Taliban ways of the Old Testament.
Be informed, and know the difference between Christianity and Bibleism.
