When a woman puts her purse or bag on the adjacent seat on a train or a bus to her to stop people from sitting next to her.

Helen was ma'amspreading on the Jitney to stop the DudeBros from sitting next to her.

The female version of manspreading . Done mostly by women who are not concerned with being lady-like. May also apply in cases where women block a seat with her bags/purse.
