"Be rational!" becomes a way of saying "agree with me." The appeal is fallacious when it treats rationality as a fixed, universal property rather than a contested concept with multiple definitions and traditions. Often used to dismiss emotional, intuitive, or experiential ways of knowing as "irrational."
