#WMAzing (adj.) A high-intensity type of amazing used to describe experiences in Florida’s 5 million acres of Wildlife Management Areas. Experiences include—but are not limited to—exploring an abandoned cypress logging town, canoeing over mastodon skeletons, hugging a cypress tree that’s more than ten feet across or the inability to close one’s jaw completely after witnessing a spectacular Florida sunset. The use of the term is typically accompanied by an intense feeling of awe, wonder and excitement.
This term was first used in an office while brainstorming ideas for the 75th anniversary of Florida’s Wildlife Management Areas in November of 2016. It was first uttered in the same tone one would say “EUREKA!”
