#GamerGate

GamerGate is a hashtag that started on twitter originally about the integrity of gaming journalism with the sparking controversy coming from a website called Kotaku. The hashtag went through two changes after it was started. First a small group of people from the origin or first group made up of mostly feminists (those that are a part of Feminism, left the idea and changed it to be about supposed sexism and racism in videogames. This prompted multiple gamers to get upset on the internet. Since gamers tend to use the internet, the internet is anonymous and a lot of people who use the internet tend to give empty threats when provoked, Anita Sarkeesian was verifiably given a false bomb threat targeting her upcoming event which was promptly cancelled. This event caused a small portion of the previously mentioned second group the spark required to start stereotyping gamers as a backlash against what happened to Anita Sarkeesian.

The first group is the #GamerGate group, wherein the consumers (gamers) revolt against their product reviewers in mass, and advocate for change using #GamerGate, or advocate for the status quo, using #StopGamerGate. The second group doesn't understand what's happening and just calls all people who use #GamerGate horrible women haters. The third group hates gamers and uses #StopGamerGate to indicate as much, whereas those who don't agree much like the first group use #GamerGate.
Gamer: "Game reviews are so corrupt and we should change it #GamerGate"
Feminist: "Gamers are woman haters #StopGamerGate"
Celebrity: "Gamers are stupid basement dwellers #StopGamerGate"

#gamersriseup

Hashtag most known for memes on r/GamersRiseUp, which is a satirical subreddit. Mostly borrows from ironic culture. The hashtag is representing the gamer nerd, sexually frustrated as a result of his girlfriend "Veronica" (non-gamer or THOT) dumping/cheating on for "Chad" (the non-gamer jock who is held up). He will often share his grievances for how she was wrong to have let down an intellectual gentleman gamer (borrowing some elements of their subreddits).
Gamer (often coined as "gang weed,") is also very, very woke. The beginnings of the "we live in a society" meme that swept across most of social media at one point is tied to original posts on Reddit. Gang weed will make use of the Joker to represent him, mainly the joker in the Dark Knight Trilogy and Suicide Squad due to the philosophies, and the unhinged, edgy nature of him.
#gamersriseup may also be a satirical take on the #gamergate which involved mainstream platforms being given to radical feminists which portrayed the gaming /industry as alt-right and backwards-thinking on such issues as women being lacking or the portrayal of femininity in big titles. The leaders, mainly skeptics and gamers from the center-to-right, are often portrayed as being some of the first truly "woke" people on the platform. Often, the gang weedian will be used for ironic conservative memes similar to how Family Guy, American Dad, etc. are.
Gang weed is also a parody of anarchist groups, too. Gang weed also hates noobs.
We live in a society that people live in.

Gang weedians have concrete proof of their oppression that has existed for longer than slavery; Kanye claims slavery was a choice, but gaming is a lifestyle. After untold long years living in this society of people who live in society living in it, oppressing us and losing our girls to Chad despite our epic gamer swag.

The time is here where we must #gamersriseup

flophouse

Any house/apartment/frat house/trailer/etc. which is used for individuals to crash (sleep, chill, hang out, lurk, etc.) for a period of time. In order to "crash", one must not actually live there (e.g. have their name on the lease, own said flophouse, etc.). Flophouses are typically used by college students, drug addicts, transients, vagrants, or other unsavory characters.

A flophouse may also be the home owned by the parents of a college student, who after being away at college, wishes to live as if he/she is still at college (e.g. staying out all night, returning just to crash at mom and dad's house, then leaving again), rather than conforming to the pre-college rules.
Example #1
Dude: (Talking to someone passed out face first on the floor of his college apartment) Hey man, who the hell are you? What do you think this is, a flophouse??

Bro: Sorry dude, I must have passed out for a minute.

Example #2
Mom: Where have you BEEN for the last three days? You come home just to sleep?? What do you think this is, a flophouse??!!

Son: What's your problem? I'm an adult now!

Hate Sink

A person you hate intensely not because they deserve such hatred but because they serve as a focus for your general hatred. A healthy way to dispense with excess animosity.
Jake's not really that big an asshole. He just serves as my hate sink.
