Dogfish

Coined by The Dating Detectives podcast, a dogfish is a who person who significantly misrepresents who they are or what they want while dating. Similar to catfish, these people aren't who they say they are, but instead of lying about the way they look they are lying about something else, like having a secret family, or dating to con their romantic partners out of money.

Person 1: "How are things going with Brad?"

Person 2: "Oh we broke up. You know those business trips he was taking to San Francisco? He was actually visiting his WIFE and their THREE CHILDREN. A total dogfish!"
