(noun) A Boot Joint is a place where alcohol is sold illegally. Prostitution is frequently found in these places and illegal drugs (particularly heroin) are often sold and used. Gambling may also go on.

Typically someone's home or apartment. "Let's go to the Boot Joint in the ninth floor apartment on Fifth Ave. in Manhattan."
