It's either high concept that overwhelms with confusion or high concept they think will appeal to the average person. Both are hated by the average consumer with normal functioning brains and social skills but end up catching the young, elderly, people who watch to question if they might actually be autist after all, people who aren't autists but think they're possibly smarter, those afraid of seeming racist, politically incorrect, etc, and of course all other actual autists who love it and contribute to the bulk of their extremely overrated status.
