When authorities in Seychelles wished to inoculate over 70% of its estimated 98,000 population by mid-March, thanks to donated half-baked or half-trialed vaccines as part of their donor’s “vaccine diplomacy,” which would make the tourism-dependent islands the first nation to vaccinate its entire population and allow restrictions to be relaxed further.

Although the islands' relative isolation has allowed them to weather the Covid-19 storm relatively well and remain open to tourists, who needed to be confined to their hotels for 10 days upon arrival, it’s doubtful how they’d contain Covid-🇸🇨, as their visitors mostly come from places with high infection and mortality rates, which have witnessed new variants of the virus.

When Buddhist-majority Sri Lanka insists that coronavirus victims should be cremated rather than buried, because burials could contaminate groundwater and spread the virus, triggering much anger among minority Muslims who want to bury their dead facing Mecca.

The WHO recommends both burials and cremations of corona victims as they carry zero risks of contamination or infection, but the Sri Lankan government wants to solve the Covid-🇱🇰 crisis their own way, with no regard for religious, political, or personal reasons.

Post Covid Apocalypse

Everything and everyone has gone to crap, nothing is like it was or will never be like it was. It’s the Covid after effect on short staffed at work, max teleworking, anti-vaxxers, mandated masks for idiots who won’t get the damn vaccine, chuckle-heads on unemployment, TikTok celebrities, depression and anxiety and how you’ve had to adjust work life balance and still make life work. It can make you feel dull and tired, take away your energy, and eat away at your ability to get things done. Forcing extroverts to be introverted and depending on the seriousness of your post-Covid apocalypse, it may last 2 to 3 months, or 2-3 years to even act and feel normal again. But for some people with a severe Post Covid Apocalypse the brain fog-like fatigue and pain can linger forever. A real shit-show that may last even after we’re dead and gone.
