Usually they are Korean War veterans, or victims of the Great Leap Forward, and are almost all dead. The influence that they put out into the world is absent from social media, and indirect. They have left little evidence of their existence except in history books. All credit for their work goes to contemporary politicians. Their work is unseen and thankless.
