Electronica

A mostly media-made term for encompassing all forms of electronic music, as individual forms of electronic music aren't popular enough for record stores to devote full sections to. Generally, it will be found next to an equally small "dance" section that carries the more danceable stuff, while electronica section carries more listening music.

House, Trance, Techno, IDM, Jungle, Anything-core, Trip-hop, Acid/Electronic Jazz, Whatever-bient, and thousands of other obscure genres are generally stuffed into "Electronica"

elementary school

An introductory academic program that leads students through the first four to eight years of their education. It is here where tomorrow’s young scholars are taught the essential “three R’s”; Reading, Writing, Recess, and of course gym….but that’s technically not an “R”…. is it?

For a perfect example of an elementary school, drive to that part of the neighborhood where all the speed limit signs say "slow children at play."

eleventh hour

1: the last minute, or leaving just enough time to finish the task at hand, sometimes not enough time.

2: doomsday, the end of the world, right before the globe is annihilated, and you dont have enough time to make good on everything you promised or messed up on.

elevenses

The name for a traditional English requirement for a hot beverage, usually tea or coffee and a light, sweet snack to go with it, usually biscuits. The urge arrives around 11am, hence the name, and is used to fill the gap between breakfast and lunch.

"I'm starting to feel a little peckish, is it time for elevenses yet?"
