When you are playing a normally smooth-running game that begins to lag due to heavy action at that moment.

"Dude, last when I was playing Medal of Honor I was taking fire from all sides. Major action lag"

Test lag

The amount of stress and/or exhaustion one gets after doing a test or examination of some sort.

Joe: bro do you want to hang out?
Achmad: I still have test lag from my finals, I think need a week to recover

lag spasm

When ones connection to an online game is so bad that they lag all over the place. I hate this problem in gears of war.

"c'mon help I can't kill three guys at once!"
"Sorry man I'm having a lag spasm. I have to stand still for it to stop. I can't stop bouncing every where."

Trend Lag

Jet lagging of social trends between a country and another, either due to timezone differences, or otherwise.

Ex. 1: #AppleEvent is trending in Egypt, although the event has ended more than 24 hours ago. This is definitely a trend lag.
Ex. 2: #Oscars2015 is trend-lagged in Germany.

The term used when lag occurs in a game but only when you're looking at the thing that lags your game.

Guy 1: "I spawned a skyscraper on Garry's Mod but it only lagged the game when I looked at it?"
Guy 2: "Yeah, that's Schrödinger's Lag"

Alternating lag

Rare but really annoying form of lag, it gives you anywhere from 0.5 to 1.5 seconds of freeze, and then flips to 0.5 to 1.5 seconds of decent FPS.

So, I have half a second to run away from these blazes, before it freezes me for 1.5 seconds, to so I DON'T experience to full fun of running away from blazes... FUCK YOU TO HELL, Alternating lag!
