magpie bidding

It is the type of bidding, usually for a house, where the first impressions are very good but it's not what you actually want or need. You then knee jerk bid on it before thinking it through. Magpie bidders usually go away and withdraw their bid rapidly after thinking about it in more detail.
"It 'twinkles' I want it, let's bid now!"
Then sometime in the future:
"Don't like it"

It's ok love, don't cry there will be other bidders. They were clearly just Magpie bidding, can't believe they would mess with people's lives like that.

PJ Bandit: A fictional character like the tooth fairy (aka toof fairy) that strikes poor, lazy people that are too lazy to put on real clothes, often lacking a sense of self respect (and usually a real job) and basic hygiene skills. Too lazy to get dressed, brush your teeth & comb your hair.

Jim is the town's leaf bandit, last year he managed to grab over 200 bags of leaves so he could make compost.

brita bandit

A friend, or more often a roommate, who constantly finishes off a water filter, such as a brita filter, without refilling it. Note that this person also is prone to finish off other items, such as chips or hard-boiled eggs, without taking the time to make or buy more.

Oh man, I'm about to lose it with Virgil. That brita bandit had the gall to finish off my eggs and leave me with an empty dish. Don't worry though, I got him back by leaving him a surprise in his toilet.
