Nuoc mam taste salty when its store bought , but also sweet, and spicy depending on the person that remakes it from the bottle to a jar for everyone to enjoy. Contrary to the basic uncultured american person's belief, who have not eaten anything other than steak, hotdogs, pizza, and potatoes... vietnamese people do not eat weird food like fish sauce because we are cruel, we eat it because vietnam was so poor, the people usually made food out of anything they could find... it turned out to be fucking delicious so it stuck. Asians also live longer because we have been eating fermented foods forever, so give give our food a try once in awhile. Also, we usually don't question why americans put cheese and butter on almost everything and call it a fucking meal.....
